The 2022 Tax filing deadline is April 18, 2023. 

The IRS urges taxpayers who are owed a refund to file as quickly as possible. For those who can't file by the April 18, 2023 deadline, the IRS reminds individual taxpayers that everyone is eligible to request a six-month extension to file their return. The easiest and fastest way to request a filing extension is to electronically file Form 4868 through a tax professional, tax software or using the Free File link on Businesses must file Form 7004.

  • Valid state issued photo ID
  • A complete copy of the previous year's returns
  • All forms W-2, 1099 & 1098
  • Property tax receipts
  • Detailed income and expense information for small business and rental real estate
  • List of charitable contributions including name of organization, date and amount donated 
  • Any additional information pertaining to the current tax year

Steve Friga

Steve provides additional tax preparation support, working closely with Tony Vaccaro to calculate tax returns and review financial records.  He has over 35 years of tax experience; founding and retiring from the Tax and Investment Group where he formerly held CFP and Enrolled Agent designations.  Steve also has a degree in psychology from George Washington University.  He has lived in Washington D.C, Houston and currently resides with his wife in Pittsford where he has been for 32 years.  In his spare time he enjoys kayaking and sunsets at his cottage on Lake Ontario, attending "Cruise Nights" with his vintage cars and attending live music performances in the Rochester area.  His favorite travel destinations are Portugal, Spain, and Barbados.

Fun Fact

Steve tried skydiving without a parachute in a vertical wind tunnel and enjoyed the experience of free-falling without having to jump out of a plane!

Tax Form Mailing Dates

Investment related tax documents such as consolidated 1099's will generally not be mailed until late February. If you hold securities (usually mutual funds) that report undistributed capital gains, these gains will be reported on a form 2439 which will not be mailed to clients until mid March.
